The collection focuses on his rhododendron hunting activities and consists chiefly of correspondence with his contacts Tseten Tashi and Keshab Pradhan of Sikkim. Topics include Smith's trips to Sikkim, establishment of the Sikkim Rhododendron Society, speeches and articles, and some personal news. There is a copy of Smith's letter to [Palden Thondup Namgyal], Chogyal of Sikkim, thanking him for his hospitality and mentioning the establishment of rhododendron sanctuaries in Sikkim. There are also articles by Smith and Keshab C. Pradhan on rhododendrons in Sikkim. With these are 38 compact disks of images of rhododendrons taken by Smith.
